Marketplace Access

The Field Nation marketplace is where buyers of service can find providers of service. A key element of the marketplace is trust. Buyers need to know that providers who are listed in the marketplace can be trusted, and providers need to know they are being presented as a qualified candidate for a job.

What is Marketplace Access?

Having marketplace access means you will appear as an available provider. When a buyer creates a work order they have the option to publish to all marketplace providers in the area of that work order. They also have the option of viewing the list of marketplace providers and choosing one or more to route the work to. If you do not have marketplace access, you will not appear in these lists.

There are some exceptions to this. For more details please see the section below titled “Non-Marketplace Options.”

Gaining Access: Training and Verification

All providers must go through the short Field Nation training. This training makes sure you understand how the Field Nation website works. This includes how to request, accept, or record progress of work.

Once trained, our staff will verify you and grant marketplace access. In addition to the training, our staff will be ensuring that your Workplace Profile has all required information. This is critical as having an empty profile on our marketplace is as bad as not being on our marketplace.

Marketplace Suspension

Our staff monitors multiple signals of possible performance problems. You will be contacted about possible bad performance events and we will determine if you were at fault or not. Being at fault puts you at risk of suspension from our marketplace, which means you temporarily lose marketplace access. Depending on the number of bad performance events, you may be suspended from the marketplace for a week, a month, or even indefinitely.

Occasionally, if a specific item needs resolution such as returning a part or submitting paperwork, you may be suspended from the marketplace until completion of that item occurs.

Non-Marketplace Options

If you do not yet have marketplace access, or are currently suspended from the marketplace, there are still options open to you. The marketplace is how service buyers identify providers they may want to work with. If the buyers already know you and know they want to work with you, they can still do so by using the following methods:

·         The buyer can add you to their “Preferred Providers.” This is a system for buyers to track providers they enjoy working with and want to be able to easily identify in the future. If you are preferred by a buyer, then they will continue to see you even if you do not have marketplace access.

·         The buyer can search to find you for direct routing. When a buyer views the list of available providers in the area for a work order, we only show providers who have marketplace access. However, they can search the list by user id or name and we will show any provider who matches that search regardless of marketplace access. They can then select you and route the work order directly to you.

·         You can ALWAYS receive Service Requests from your Workplace Profile. Service Requests are simplified work orders intended specifically for you. If someone wants you to perform work, just link them to your Workplace Profile and ask them to enter a Service Request.
