As a technician, you have instant access to a vast database of work orders. Many work orders will fit your skills, schedule, and price range. When you see these work orders, you may request assignment to them. This tells the company you are both available and interested in the job. Here is how you request a work order:

 

1.         Select “Available Work Orders”  to show the current work orders available near you.

2.         Scroll through the available work orders.

NOTE:
You can increase or decrease the number of orders displayed by changing the radius from your home for accepting a job.

 

 

3.         Select the work order you want to request by clicking the title.

 

4.         Once a company accepts your request for work you have a binding contract. So make sure to read the company’s policies and instructions along with their pay rate BEFORE you request the position.  

5.         Select  to formally request assignment to the job.

6.         Set a time limit for your request to be active (if desired) and then click .

 

A pop-up screen asks you to acknowledge your request.

 

Your request is sent to the hiring manager for consideration. If he or she thinks you are the best candidate, you will be selected.


making a counter offer

Sometimes the job looks great but you require additional compensation because of your available skills or your commuting distance. In some cases, you can make a counter offer. 

 

1.         Select a work order using the same procedure as when requesting a work order.

2.         Click .

 

3.         Fill out your counter offer.

4.         Click  to request the position based on your counter offer.

 

The manager will either choose to accept your counter offer, decline your counter offer or continue to negotiate.
